Minor among 2 killed as car collides with e-rick in Pilibhit
Pilibhit: A 14-year-old boy and a 60-year-old woman were killed, while seven others, including four minors, were critically injured after a speeding car rammed into an e-rickshaw near Birsinghpur village on Bisalpur-Deoria road in Pilibhit district around 11.50 am on Wednesday.Police said the e-rickshaw was carrying eight passengers from Babura village under Bilsanda police station to Ilabas Deval temple under Deoria police station when the car collided head-on, leaving both vehicles severely damaged.Deoria SHO Gautam Singh said the injured passengers and e-rickshaw driver were taken to the community health centre in Bisalpur, where Rahul Kumar (14) and Jashoda Devi (60) were declared dead on arrival. The injured, identified as Munendra Singh (26), Aman (12), Annpurna Devi (40), Rajeshwari Devi (30), Sudha (10), Shobha (4) and Kajal (15), are undergoing treatment.Locals caught the car driver and handed him over to the police, while two passengers in the car escaped unhurt. "The car has been seized. An FIR will be lodged once a written complaint is received," said Singh.
