Man killed as tractor mows down bike

Pilibhit: A 25-year-old man, working as a supervisor with a telecom firm, died after a sugarcane-laden tractor trolley mowed down his bike near Jangrauli village on Monday evening.
According to police, the victim Gopal Pathak from Rooppur Kamalu village was returning home after duty when the accident occurred. He was rushed to the district hospital in Pilibhit where the doctors declared him brought dead.Rooppur Kamalustation house officer Shrikant Dwivedi said that the tractor driver fled the spot after the accident. He added that police then seized the vehicle and registered a case against an unidentified person under sections 304A (causing death by negligence) and 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of rupees fifty or over) of IPC.
