UP: Doctors demand justice for Archana Sharma

The Indian Medical Association’s (IMA) women doctors wing held a day-long protest in Moradabad on Tuesday to condemn the death of Dr Archana Sharma, who killed herself after Rajasthan police filed a murder case against her for alleged medical negligence.

MORADABAD: The Indian Medical Association’s (IMA) women doctors wing held a day-long protest in Moradabad on Tuesday to condemn the death of Dr Archana Sharma, who killed herself after Rajasthan police filed a murder case against her for alleged medical negligence. A memorandum was submitted to the authorities concerned at the collectorate.
Vice president IMA Moradabad, Dr Shazia Monis said, “In case of death during treatment, it cannot be assumed that it is an act of medical negligence.

The police should register a case only after the members of the committee have conducted an investigation.”
“We all stand in solidarity with the family of Dr Archana, and demand justice for her. Stringent action must be taken against those culpable for driving her to suicide,” said Dr Nishat Anjum, member of IMA.
