Students protest at Rohilkhand University over 'appointments, facilities'
BAREILLY: Members of the Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha on Monday staged a protest at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, alleging irregularities in recruitments and poor student facilities.Led by District President Avinash Mishra, students gathered on campus and sought to meet with the vice-chancellor. However, they were informed that he was “out of station”. Protesters raised slogans, displayed placards reading “Vice-Chancellor Missing”, and staged a sit-in.Student leaders alleged wrongful appointments, violation of reservation norms, and bias in recent recruitments. They claimed repeated attempts to raise issues had been ignored.A memorandum was submitted to the registrar highlighting alleged violations of UGC 2018 regulations, manipulation of eligibility criteria, discrepancies, and irregularities in implementing reservation policies.
