Azam appears before MP/MLA court in fake birth certificate case hearing

Rampur: Senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan who stepped out of the Sitapur jail on Friday morning after spending over 26 months in judicial custody, on Saturday appeared before the Special MP/MLA court here hearing the "fake birth certificate" case. Azam is one of the accused in the birth certificate case.

Speaking with the mediapersons outside the court, Azam said, “Today (Saturday) was fixed for my appearance before the court so following the order I appeared.”

Azam was accompanied by his lawyers and son Abdullah Azam at the court. The latter appeared for the “passport” case.

District government counsel Arun Prakash Saxena said, “Azam Khan appeared for the hearing in the birth certificate case and Abdullah Azam for the passport case. The court has fixed May 26 for the next hearing of the birth certificate case and May 30 for the passport case.”
