by his four neighbours after he failed to repay Rs 50,000 which he had borrowed from one of the accused in Ghera Panbadiya village under Fatehganj police station here on Saturday.

Fatehganj SHO Rajkumar Tiwari said the accused were identified as Suri Pratap Singh, 40, alias Kale, his younger brother Lakhan Singh, 45, Suri’s uncle and nephew Ganga Singh, 58, and Pushpendra Singh, 26, respectively.

“According to victim’s elder son Harpal Singh, his father Shankar was close friend of Ganga. Few months ago, Shankar had borrowed Rs 50,000 from Ganga and promised to repay the money within a month. When the victim’s three sons returned from their work, they found their father lying in a pool of blood on his bed. They informed police,” said Tiwari.

“On the complaint of Harpal, an FIR was registered against the four accused under the section 302 (murder) of IPC. We are investigating into this matter.” SHO added.
