: The
Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution
Company Limited chairman and managing director
Sanjeev Kumar has warned the staff against lethargy in extending services to the consumers.
“In an unprecedented move, he got in touch with the staff across the state through video conference on Monday and insisted on maintaining transparency, extending prompt and result oriented service to the consumers,” said
Sunil Jadhav, a senior
MSEDCL official on Wednesday.
Jadhav said, “The interaction was initiated with an intention to improve services to the consumer and maintain transparency in the functioning of MSEDCL. The managing director contacted not only the chief engineers, but also interacted with the technicians, operators and other employees through video conference to know their grievances and problems.”
Taking into consideration his discussion with these staff, Kumar has issued a set of instructions. “He has directed that meter readings should be conducted each month and bills should be issued to the consumers immediately. The work related to power supply must be completed on priority and every work involving the maintenance must be carried out by taking the consumers of the respective area into confidence,” Jadhav said.
“He told the staff to ensure that the consumer’s complaints are addressed promptly and that a lethargy on the staff’s part would not be tolerated,” said Jadhav.
