AURANGABAD: Almost 10% of women, who suffer from Urogynecology disorders, do not seek professional help either due to lack of awareness or inhibitions, said experts at the Urogynecology conference organised jointly by the

Aurangabad

Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society and Panat Hospital here on Sunday.

Speaking at the conference, organising secretary of the conference and gynaecologist,

Veena Panat

said "Around 5 to 10% of women are found to be suffering from urogynecological problems."

"All pelvic problems can be cured in most cases and in some cases it can be controlled with a comprehensive approach involving surgical operations, medicines and various exercises designed to strengthen the pelvic floor," said

Srinivas Gadappa

, senior gynaecologist at

Aurangabad Government Medical College

and hospital.

She added that urogynecology is a specialized field dealing with womens urinary and pelvic floor problems.

Other experts who also spoke on the occasion were

Anuja Bhalerao

from Nagpur, Mangesh Narwadkar from Nanded, Swati Shiradkar and gynaecologist Savita Panat.
