Three held with 1.1 kg heroin in Punjab's Barnala

BARNALA: District police on Saturday arrested three persons and recovered 1.1 kilogram Heroin valued at Rs. 6 crore from their possession. The arrested persons have been identified as Sukhdev Singh, Happy Singh of Dhuri in district Sangrur and Gurpreet Singh of Samana town in Patiala. They were apprehended on Saturday from Dhanaula in district Barnala.Barnala SSP Harjit Singh, while speaking to mediapersons said, "Police got a tip-off that some persons are travelling in a vehicle with contraband and a police party stopped white coloured Swift Dzire car PB 13AW 2820 at Dhanaula. Upon searching police found 1.1 kg Heroin from the possession of three persons and took them into custody. Case under NDPS Act has been registered against the three at Dhanaula police station and further investigations are being made".He said police were investigating from where they got the contraband and to whom it was to be supplied.
