Amritsar: With the onset of winter, the rise in fog has coincided with an increase in cross-border smuggling attempts. On Saturday night, the Border Security Force (BSF) thwarted one such endeavor, intercepting a Pakistani drone. According to a BSF spokesperson, troops stationed along the Indo-Pak international border near Dhanoe Khurd village in Amritsar district detected an unidentified flying object breaching Indian airspace. They responded by firing at the intruder and successfully brought it down.Following the incident, a search operation was initiated on early Sunday morning leading to the discovery of a Chinese-made Quadcopter (Model - DJI Mavic 3 Classic) drone and a packet containing half a kilogram of heroin. The spokesperson confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection with this case so far.
