AMARAVATI: YSRC legislator Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy has alleged that he has sufficient evidence to prove that his phones are being tapped by the intelligence department. He fumed at CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for keeping him under surveillance despite being loyal to the party.
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Reddy said he has decided to contest the next elections as a TDP nominee.
1x1 polls
Sridhar Reddy, a two-time YSRC legislator from Nellore rural constituency, said about 15 legislators and two cabinet ministers have approached him regarding phone tapping. “Since they are tapping the phones of YSRC legislators, it will not stop here. They will surely tap the phones of the officials, judges and the people in media. I am going to complain to Union home minister Amit Shah and seek a thorough probe into the issue,” he said.
He said Intelligence DGP PSR Anjaneyulu had forwarded him the audio clip he had with his friend on iphone which clearly shows that their phones were tapped. “Neither myself nor my friend could record the conversation on iphone. How could the intelligence DGP get access to the audio clip unless they start tapping the phones?” asked Sridhar Reddy.
He said he remained silent on the issue as he did not want to trouble the IPS officers as the phone tapping charges would land them in soup. He said he was compelled to come out with the details as former minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy dared him to reveal the evidence.
Interestingly, Venkatagiri legislator Anam Ramanarayana Reddy also alleged that his phones were being tapped for past two-and-half years.
Meanwhile, the YSRC strongly refuted the charges. Government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said Sridhar Reddy made wild allegations only after deciding to quit the party. He said there is no truth to the charges.
