Flights from Kurnool to Vijayawada to become operational from July 2

Flights between Kurnool and Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh are set to commence on July 2, operating thrice weekly on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This initiative follows increasing industrial development in Kurnool and Nandyal districts, driven by projects like the Orvakal solar plant. The decision came after Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu recognized the need to boost industrial progress in the region.

TIRUPATI: Travel between Kurnool and Vijayawada will become much easier with the launch of flights between the two cities in Andhra Pradesh from July 2. Confirming the development to reporters, State minister for industries, commerce and food processing TG Bharath said flights between the two cities of Kurnool and Vijayawada will be operated thrice a week on Monday-Wednesday-Friday. “With Kurnool and Nandyal districts witnessing rapid progress on the industrial front with the establishment of the country’s largest solar project near Orvakal and several other renewable energy projects being grounded in the two districts in the recent times, there has been a demand from the industrial circles and the business communities for the launch of frequent flights between Kurnool and Vijayawada”, TG Bharath noted.

“When we took the issue to the notice of the union civil aviation minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu and explained to him about the need for the introduction of flights between Kurnool and Vijayawada, he was convinced and directed the civil aviation department to initiate measures immediately”, Industries minister recalled.TG Bharath exuded confidence that the launch thrice a week flight services between Kurnool and Vijayawada will further boost the industrial progress of both Nandyal and Kurnool district in the near future.
