Devipatnam boat mishap: 18 more bodies recovered, toll rises to 26

DEVIPATNAM (EAST GODAVARI): The death toll in the Godavari river boat capsize incident near Kacchuluru village, Devipatnam in Andhra Pradesh rose to 26 on Tuesday as 18 more bodies were recovered, an NDRF official said.
"Total 24 bodies, including 18 on Tuesday, have been recovered so far," said SK Sharma, second in command, NDRF Battalion, Guntur.
"We suspect that most of the missing persons might have washed away," Sharma said.
The boat had capsized on Sunday afternoon in Godavari river along Papikondalu.
