‘VHP connecting Hindus across the world’
Prayagraj: Addressing volunteers on the second day of the ‘Parishad Shiksha Varg’ of Vishwa Hindu Parishad at Soroan on Tuesday, regional organising secretary Gajendra Ji said the organisation is engaged actively in the task of connecting Hindu culture on a global scale and disseminating its humanistic values—viewed from a universal perspective—to every corner of the world. He said core mantra of Hindu culture is ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (entire world is one family) and through this principle, the organisation works ceaselessly to propagate a message of global brotherhood, peace and cooperation. Rather than viewing Hinduism merely as a sect, the organisation promotes it as a way of life that inherently encompasses respect for nature, environmental conservation and a balanced lifestyle.Across the world—initially through Indian diaspora—VHP facilitates dissemination of Indian cultural and social traditions, festivals, Yoga and Ayurveda. For this, numerous programmes and conferences are held, through which the organisation periodically endeavors to bring together people of all faiths, sects and denominations on a single platform.Discussions are held regarding contemporary global relevance of Hindu culture and VHP also hosts programmes addressing modern-day environmental crises and importance of cultural values and rites.
Regional satsang pramukh Diwakar Nath Tripathi here said it is a collective responsibility to periodically awaken society to the need to protect the points of honor of the Hindu community—specifically sanctity of cow as well as the symbols of faith, heritage sites and cultural landmarks of Hinduism. “This responsibility entails drawing attention of administrative officials to these matters and presenting our demands to govt at appropriate junctures. We must articulate our stance at the right time and take appropriate action whenever the need arises,” he added.
