Prayagraj: Cops on Tuesday claimed to have arrested two out of five accused, identified as
Rashid and his brother
Salman, residents of Bongi village, on the charges of killing their elderly maternal uncle over a petty dispute on Monday.
A 65-year-old man identified as Nisar Ahmad, was allegedly beaten to death by
Guddu and his four brothers over entering of a goat into Nisar’s house.
Police said Guddu’s goat, whose marriage was to be solemnised on Monday evening itself, had entered his maternal uncle’s house on Monday morning. Irked over the goat entry, the family members of Nisar beat up the goat and outed the animal from their house campus.
However, the scene took an ugly turn when both the families came at loggerheads over beating of goat issue and a group of five brothers allegedly thrashed Nisar with sticks who succumbed to his injuries during the treatment.
Upon being alerted, cops rushed the spot and launched a manhunt for all five accused. While Rashid and Salman were arrested, three others including Guddu was still absconding. The marriage of Guddu was also postponed.
