Tributes paid to Jallianwala Bagh martyrs
Prayagraj: Rich tributes were paid to honour the martyrs of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre at Chandrashekhar Azad Park in Prayagraj, on Monday. The programme was organised by the Amar Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad and Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Memorial Committee.The committee members and students from various schools paid floral tributes to the martyrs. Personnel of the armed police force gave a ceremonial 21-gun salute, while the police band played patriotic tunes.Speaking at the event, committee general secretary Raj Bahadur Gupta said that future generations will always remember the courage and sacrifice of the martyrs. Raju Mercury described the Jallianwala Bagh massacre as one of the darkest chapters in the country’s history.Students from several schools also participated in the programme by presenting patriotic songs and raising slogans in honour of the nation. The event concluded with a collective tribute, remembering the sacrifices made during India’s freedom struggle
