Allahabad: A 15-year-old boy identified as SK Tiwari, resident of Deorakh village was brutally murdered outside the village under Naini police station, here on Thursday. Police said that the boy, who was the student of class nine in a city based school, was missing since Wednesday evening and his body was found near a pond on Thursday morning.
Superintendent of police, Trans-Yamuna, VK Mishra told TOI that the police have detained three persons in this connection. He added that preliminary investigations revealed that the miscreants had used an aluminium wire to kill the boy as he (boy) was strangled to death.
He further added that the boy had an affair with a local girl and this led to his killing. Detailed investigations are still on. The incident, however, created panic in Deorakh and adjoining villages with villagers mounted police to crack down the case.
Burglary at jewellery shop: Some unidentified miscreants made away Rs 13,000 cash, two kilogramme silver and gold ornaments from a jewellery shop located at the Shivala Market, Rajrooppur under Dhoomanganj police station late on Wednesday night. The miscreants had broken the shutter of the jewellery shop to make their entry. The police, however, was suspecting the case suspicious claiming that the main locker was not touched by the miscreants. However, the shop owner, Sandeep Sahoo claimed that cash along with silver and gold worth lakhs was stolen from his shop.
Run over: A person aged about 68 years was run over by a speeding train under Mutthiganj police station. Police said that they it was still not clear whether the person was run over or he committed suicide. The body was sent for post mortem examination.
