ALLAHABAD: The Rashtriya Lok Manch, in a meeting held at Kaushambi on Sunday, decided to organise a statewide agitation from Monday to demand a separate state of Poorvanchal.
Presiding over the meeting, state secretary, Uttar Pradesh Yuva Lok Manch, Satyapriya Sonkar said the agitation will also focus on drawing the attention of people towards the deteriorating law and order situation under
BSP government.
The Manch has also decide to raise issues like rising incidents of rape, attack on media, water and electricity crisis, problems of farmers and traders. The Manch will also submit a memorandum, addressed to the governor, to highlight these issues.
District president, Kaushambi, Rajendra Singh exhorted party workers and leaders to create awareness among people on the demands being raised by the Manch.
District president, women's wing, Geeta Devi Maurya said that incidents of victimisation of women are increasing in the state despite the fact that a woman is heading the state government.
