ALLAHABAD: Police attached the property of ex-MLA Khalid Azim alias Ashraf when he failed to appear in court despite summons in a murder case. Ashraf is the brother of Atiq Ahmad.

Dhoomanganj SO Nagesh Kumar said Ashraf had been accused of conspiring with Mariadiha village head

Abid Pradhan

to kill the latter's sister Alakama and her driver

Surjeet

in 2015.

Police had lodged a named FIR against six people on Abid's complaint.

However probe revealed that the men

Abid

had named worked for Atiq and the murder had been planned to frame them.

Ashraf is wanted in three other cases, including Raju Pal murder, a murderous attack on

Surajkali

and his son Nanu alias Narendra at Jhalwa in 2015. A non-bailabble warrant has been issued against Ashraf.
