Nominations close for AUTA elections

The nominations for the various posts of the election for Allahabad University Teachers Association closed on Wednesday. Three teachers are in the fray for the post of president's post of the union.

ALLAHABAD: The nominations for the various posts of the election for Allahabad University Teachers Association (AUTA) closed on Wednesday. Three teachers are in the fray for the post of president's post of the union.
Detailing on the nominations, returning officer Prof B P Singh said for the post of president Prof Ram Kishore Shastri, who is also the sitting president, Kripa Shankar Pandey and Prof Ram Gopal are in the fray.

Four teachers will vie for the post of vice-president. These include Prof R S Pandey, J A Ansari, Prof S K Malhotra and Prof S K Sharma.
Three nominations have been filed for the post of general secretary which include Shashi Kant Rai, D C Lal and S M Prasad, said Singh. Lal and Prasad have also filed nominations for the post of treasurer while Manjula Jaiswal and J P Misra have filed nominations for the post of auditor. For the post of joint secretary, S H Akhtar, R S Yadav, J P Mishra and Prashant Agrawal have filed their nominations.
Last date for withdrawing nominations is October 31. The final list of candidates after the scrutiny of nomination forms and withdrawals would be published on November 3, and the elections would be be held on November 5 in the department of Hindi.
