No breakthrough in 7-year-old boy’skidnapping case

Prayagraj: More than 24 hours have passed, but police are still clueless about the whereabouts of the seven-year-old boy who was allegedly kidnapped by car-borne miscreants outside his house at Saraykala village under the Manda police station limits on Saturday.At least eight police teams have been formed to rescue the boy. Senior officers said the family has neither received any ransom call nor expressed suspicion against anyone in connection with the abduction. "The motive is still not clear," said DCP (Yamuna Nagar) Vivek Chandra Yadav, adding that the economic condition of the family was not very good. He, however, said police teams were working on some clues to recover the child, an LKG student at a school in Akora. Police said that after school, the van driver dropped the child at around 3 pm in front of his house, where his grandfather was waiting to pick him up. Meanwhile, some unknown persons in a van asked the grandfather about the address of Jamaia village and suddenly pulled the child into the vehicle before fleeing the spot. Police said the child's father works in Mumbai and the family's economic condition is not very strong. After being alerted, senior police officials, including the ACP (Meja), along with police teams, rushed to the spot and began an investigation. The DCP said CCTV footage helped the police track the escape route of the kidnappers, and teams are working on several leads. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections. Police said the victim's family has not raised suspicion against the school van driver, and the family also has no known enmity with anyone in the village.
