Jeep falls into borewell, nine persons injured

At least nine persons, including a woman, suffered serious injuries when a jeep carrying them fell into a 40-feet underconstruction borewell near Siyari village in Handia on Tuesday.

ALLAHABAD: At least nine persons, including a woman, suffered serious injuries when a jeep carrying them fell into a 40-feet underconstruction borewell near Siyari village in Handia on Tuesday.
Station officer, Handia, Ravi Bhushan Srivsatava said the injured persons were admitted to different hospitals where their condition was stated to be stable.
He added that the jeep was on way to Handia from Kathara and the accident occurred when a front tyre of the jeep burst.

As a result, the jeep fell into the underconstruction borewell.
Upon receiving information, a police team along with ambulance, crane and JCB machine rushed to the spot and carried out the rescue operation which lasted for more than three hours.
However, all the passengers were taken out safely from the borewell. Locals said timely intervention by police saved the lives of passengers.
