Prayagraj: A couple identified as Angad and his wife Rajkumari, along with their son Luvkush, all residents of Meeranpur, were arrested by Kaushambi police on Tuesday in connection with the brutal killing of a lineman.Cops have also seized a sword, an axe, a shovel and other sharp-edged weapons, along with the severed head of the slain lineman and the deceased’s mobile phone from the spot.The beheaded body of a lineman, identified as Rajoo (30), a resident of Pansaur, was recovered near the village under the limits of Charwa police station in Kaushambi district on Monday morning. The bike of the slain lineman was also recovered a stone’s throw from the body.During questioning, the prime accused, Angad, told police that the lineman used to harass his daughter and, despite repeated warnings, was adamant about calling her. He said that on the intervening night of June 7 and 8, the family caught the lineman red-handed harassing his daughter, following which they killed him and beheaded the body.The family also buried the head of the lineman near a roadside corner and dumped the body near a road leading to a primary school in Meeranpur village. The accused also parked the deceased’s bike near the body and fled.
