Contempt notice to Obra Thermal Project GM

ALLAHABAD: Allahabad High Court has issued contempt notice to chief general manager of Obra Thermal Power Project, Obra, Sonbhadra, DN Bajpai for non-compliance of an order passed by the court. The order was passed by Justice Sabhajeet Yadav on a contempt petition filed by Uma Shanker of Mirzapur.
The court has directed him to comply with the order passed by the high court and file compliance report by the next date.The court has further clarified that in case of failure in compliance of order, the chief general manager will appear in person to show cause why the charge may not be framed for punishing him under the provisions of the contempt of court Act.
Petitioner's counsel Arvind Tripathi had submitted that the gratuity of the petitioner was witheld on account of non-eviction of the accommodation. The matter was represented by the petitioner but the same was not considered for which he filed a writ petition and High Court had issued a direction to decide the representation of the petitioner in accordance with law within two months.
The case of the petitioner was that the aforesaid authority had failed to comply with direction of the court. The court has fixed to hear the case on October 23.
