BJP demands mayor's resignation

ALLAHABAD: A meeting of BJP corporators and activists was held in the city in which the participants criticised Congress Party for attacking the RSS office.
Chairing the meeting, Umesh Dwivedi, corporator observed: "It is quite ironical that a person occupying the topmost post of mayor who was instrumental in organising all religion peace meet in the backdrop of Ayodhya verdict and appealed for maintaining peace was also involved in the attack on RSS office.This has exposed the true face of the mayor and he has no right to occupy this crucial post.'' The party activists demanded immediate resignation of mayor Chowdhry Jitendra Nath Singh.
Participating in the meeting, Diwakar Nath Tripathi alleged that Congress leaders are falsely implicating persons in false case. Nishesh Dubey alleged that the attack on the RSS office was preplanned.
The corporators who participated in the meeting included Girdhari Singh, Sheetal Pandey, Anita Yadav, Shailednra Mishra and other party actvists.
