ALLAHABAD: The exploitation of traders by the officers would be opposed at all level and the fight for their rights would be taken up on the roads and in the Parliament, claimed
Amar Singh, Rajya Sabha MP and national president of Lok Manch, on Sunday. He was addressing a meeting of Vyapari Mahakumbh, which was organised at Rajarshi Tandon Mandapam.
Singh also castigated the state government for the deteriorating law and order situation in the state as traders are being looted.
He referred to the loot incident in which a jeweller, Prashant Agarwal, was the victim. He said that it seems that criminals are ruling the state as there is no rule of law.
Jaya Prada, cine-star and MP from Rampur, observed that it is good to see that women traders of the city are united in the struggle for their rights. The meeting was presided over by Vijay Gupta, state president of Vyapari Ekta Samiti, and was conducted by Ram Prasad Yadav and Akhilesh Jaiswal.
In another function, Amar Singh said that youths are the future of the country but it is unfortunate that both the Central and state governments are ignoring their interests. He said that the rights of the youths are being trampled upon.
Earlier, Amar Singh was given a warm welcome on his arrival in the city.
