ALLAHABAD: The police on Monday claimed to have cracked
Dhoomanganj triple murder
case by arresting eight persons from Chaufatka area. The police have also seized one licensed DBBL (double barrel gun) of 0.12 bore, 12 live cartridges and an axe from their possession.

Atul Sharma said that police have arrested eight persons, including prime accused Balwant Singh and his three sons. The arrested persons also include three women - Kusum lala, Manjari and Rachna. All the arrested persons are residents of Dhoomanganj.
Senior sub inspector of Dhoomanganj police station and in-charge of Rajruppur police outpost have been placed under suspension for dereliction of duties. A high-level probe has been ordered by the SSP to investigate the role of policemen in the case. The SP (Trans
Yamuna) would be leading the probe.
Meanwhile, state government has shifted Allahabad SSP Atul Sharma and appointed
Satyarth Anurudh Pankaj
as new SSP of Allahabad.
