70% schools upload transport details on UPISVMP
Prayagraj: Around 70% schools in Prayagraj region have uploaded details of school transport, including registration, onboard vehicles, driver record, track complaince report, inspections and other documents on the Integrated School Vehicle Monitoring Portal (ISVMP) as sought by the state transport department. The department has fixed April 15 as the last date for uploading all details. There are a total of 17,796 schools operating across Prayagraj region including Prayagraj (6,671), Kaushambi (2,238), Pratapgarh (5,008) and Fatehpur (3,879). However, only 1,655 schools have their own transport facility including Prayagraj (585), Kaushambi (187), Pratapgarh (498) and Fatehpur (385).Out of the 1,655 schools having their own transport medium, a total of 5,050 school buses and other mode of travel for kids including Pragagraj (1,837), Kaushambi (479), Pratapgarh (1,626) and Fatehpur (1,108) are being plied in the four districts.RTO (Prayagraj region) Sanjeev Gupta told TOI that the department has mandated online verification of school vehicles in order to boost students’ safety. These measures will facilitate checking of safety-related documents by concerned departments such as the transport and education departments on a single platform, he said.As part of the initiative, the department has developed an online platform called the UP Integrated School Vehicle Monitoring Portal (UPISVMP) for uploading the details of the school vehicles.
“Once the school upload all the details, the transport department would carry out physical inspections of the vehicles and cross-check the uploaded information,” said the RTO adding “The district-level authorities, including education and transport officials, will also be entrusted to ensure cent percent compliance.”The RTO said that the portal to upload the documents will go live from April 1, and the deadline is April 15.During this period, all 1,655 schools of the four districts are required to upload the complete details of the vehicles operating under them. They must also submit a declaration confirming the accuracy of the information. If a school does not operate any vehicles, it must still submit a declaration stating so,” he said. The move follows instructions from the state government to strengthen kids safety and streamline monitoring through digital systems. Gupta said, “The move has been taken after finding the poor fitness of school vehicle ferrying children and accidents in the recent years”.The authorities have directed all the schools to complete the required process by uploading documents related to the transport facilities provided to students and avoid any action.
