Revenue board bar assn calls for boycott

Ajmer: The highest appellant of revenue cases, Rajasthan Revenue Board (RRB), is facing a shortage of members, resulting in more than 60,000 cases across the state pending in this court. The Rajasthan Revenue Board Bar Association on Friday decided to boycott judicial work on September 2 to record their protest. The bar association is also demanding that the number of members from judicial services and from the advocate quota be increased to bring down the pendency of cases. tnn

Forest division to retrieve 14k ha from revenue dept

The state forest department in Pune plans to reclaim 14,000 hectares of its land from the revenue department after an expired lease agreement. Previously, 20,000 hectares had been retrieved and protected under the Forest Conservation Act (FCA). The reclaimed land will be demarcated and designated as reserve forest areas to ensure protection against encroachments and unauthorized constructions.
