AJMER: An ACB team on Friday arrested Tonk Nagar Parishad commissioner and two others for taking Rs 1 lakh bribe to pass a bill for work done during Banas Mahotsav held in December last. The commissioner was making the complainant rounds of the office and later demanded bribe. The complainant then went to the office of the ACB in Jaipur and lodged a complaint.
Additional DGP of ACB Hemant Priyadarshi said after the agency received the complaint, they verified the charges and found that the complainant did a lot of works under various heads such as photography, videography and stage preparation during Banas Mahotsav conducted by the Nagar Parishad. But Anita Khichad, commissioner of the parishad, started harassing the complainant and later demanded Rs 1 lakh to pass the bill.
ACB DSP Suresh Swami trapped Khichad, LDC Mohammad Saleem and safai karmi Omdev Nagar while taking the bribe and arrested them. Khichad is resident of Rajgargh in Churu district while Saleem and Omdev are residents of Tonk district. The mahotsav was conducted from December 22 to 24.
