Ahmedabad: Travelling by the
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport (SVPI)? Your assistance experience may be certainly different and tech-savvy now! The operator of the SVPI on Saturday announced it has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) based surveillance service, desk of goodness, to help flyers through smart detection techniques, which aims to serve passengers like senior citizens, women with infants, and passengers in need of a wheelchair.
The system has been deployed at the departures area of the domestic terminal (T1), covering six lanes of the departures and arrival areas and pre-and-post security areas covered under this system.
The system also detects incidents such as a fall or abnormal passenger behaviour. This desk is manned by airport staffers equipped with smart tabs, which keep them updated on possible sites wherepassengers need support. Jeet Adani, director, Adani Airport Holdings, said, “AI-based video content analytics plays a crucial role in reaching out to flyers in emergencies. Analytics-based learning will allow us to set new benchmarks in operational intelligence and situational awareness, improving safety, security and efficiency.”
In the AI-based system, surveillance cameras raise alerts on detecting anomalies.
