Vadodara flood: Govt announces relief package for businesses
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat govt has announced a relief package for businesses that suffered losses due to widespread flooding in Vadodara city and district following heavy rain last month. The aid will be disbursed from the CM's relief fund. A notification issued by the state industries and mines department on Sep 11 said that the compensation package is being provided to micro, small and medium enterprises along with businesses and voluntary organizations. Those operating carts to earn a living will be given assistance of Rs 5,000, while those having cabins of up to 40 sq feet will get assistance of Rs 20,000. People operating from cabins of more than 40 sq feet area will be given Rs 40,000. The notification said that pucca shops, which fall under the category of small and medium enterprises and have a monthly turnover of up to Rs 5 lakh, will receive assistance of Rs 85,000, while the govt will facilitate soft loans for shops with a turnover of over Rs 5 lakh. The notification said such shops will be entitled to loans of up to Rs 20 lakh and subsidized interest for three years.
