Uzbek GM Abdimalik in lead after Round 4

Ahmedabad: Uzbekistan IM Abdisalimov Abdimalik led the table with four points at the end of the fourth round of the 3rd Gujarat International Open Grandmasters Chess Tournament here on Saturday. India’s IM Nitin S and Egypt GM Hesham Abdelrahman are in second and third position respectively with four points each. Abdimalik defeated India’s Soham Bhattacharya on Saturday and will play Indian IM Srihari LR in the next round.The match between tournament's top seed Paraguay GM Delgado Ramirez and India’s Suyog Wagh in fourth round ended in a draw.
Zala, Paida advance:
Rajkot’s Krutarth Zala and Veraval’s Harsh Paida registered easy wins in their first-round matches at the All India Open snooker tournament in Ahmedabad on Saturday. Zala defeated Kuldeep Sharma, while Paida got the better of Chaitanya Khokhar as they both moved into the second round.RESULTS: Harsh Paida beat Chaitanya Khokhar 49-40, 55-22; Tirth Bhatt beat Prit 47-46, 40-36; Shanti Baranda beat Meet Jadav 50-13, 59-19; Zeel Shah beat Sohil Gondaliya 57-12, 23-41, 64-47; Yash Rathor beat Preyash Patel 58-09, 65-30; Krutarth Zala beat Kuldeep Sharma 57-13, 64-19; Moneel Zala beat Parag 40-16,53-42.
Gujarat’s Sudhir wins wrestling silver:
Gujarat's Sudhir Jat won a silver medal in the 61kg freestyle wrestling at the 2022 U-20 [Junior] wrestling national championship held in Patna. In the final, Jat lost to Mohit Kumar Haryana.
