Ahmedabad: Two arrested for multiple burglaries

AHMEDABAD: Crime branch sleuths on Saturday arrested Riyazuddin Shaikh (25) of Vejalpur and Kamlesh Parmar (20) of Vasna for their alleged involvement in several burglaries.


The duo were nabbed from the Vasna area by a team led by Inspector Rajesh Suvera. ACP (crime branch) Bhagirathsinh Gohil said they recovered a stolen car and a scooter from them besides

burglary

tools. Cops said the duo would travel to the places they intended to burgle by car.

Crime branch sources said the duo confessed to having broken into eight houses in Sabarmati, Vadaj, Vasna, Paldi and Kalol. Crime branch sources said Shaikh has a criminal record and was earlier arrested for assault and supplying meat illegally, cow slaughter and black marketing of kerosene, while Parmar has been arrested thrice by Satellite police for burglary.“They used drive around in a car in the day and identify bungalows that were locked. They would then return at night and break in,” added Solanki.
