Tributes paid to Siachen martyr

AHMEDABAD: Family, friends, and Indian Army officials paid tribute to

Captain Nilesh Soni

on his 30th death anniversary, at his memorial near Anjali BRTS bus stand in Paldi on Sunday. Soni, an Indian hero from Ahmedabad, was posted at Siachen in 1987 during

Operation Meghdoot.

Jagdish Soni, his elder brother, said in his speech that his family and friends have made representations to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to allot space to commemorate martyrs from Ahmedabad who have laid their down lives for India. Lieutenant Colonel
