AHMEDABAD: A 23-year-old Sola woman has filed a
police
complaint alleging that she was raped repeatedly by a builder from
Thaltej
for a year.
In her complaint, filed with Sola police on Sunday, the woman named
Himanshu Patel, a builder. She is an interior designer. She said she and Patel had connected on social media and had met for the first time on her birthday on July 14, 2021.
She said they exchanged phone numbers after which they began meeting frequently. She said that on August 20, 2021, Patel sent her a message asking her to meet him at his newly constructed hotel on
Science City Road
. "He took me to a hotel telling me that he wanted me to work on its interiors," she said. "He then raped me inside a room."
She said that on August 22, 2021, Patel told her that he wanted to marry her. According to the woman, he said he would talk to his parents. The woman said that on September 22, 2021, he took her to his
office
on Sindhu Bhavan Road. He told her he wanted to collect a file. She said that when they entered his office, he molested her. She said he thrashed her when she showed resistance. She said he apologized to her the next day and persuaded her to meet him again at his office. She said that when she met him, he again raped her.
She said that Patel called her on November 3, 2021, and tried to rape her. She told police when she tried to fend him off, he said that he had shot her nude videos and blackmailed her into acquiescing to his sexual demands.
The woman said that on April 3 this year, Patel met her and said that his parents were against their marriage and told her not to meet him again. She said that he slapped her, snatched her phone, and deleted their conversations and his contact number. The woman approached Sola police and filed a complaint.
