Road rage: District judge’s son thrashed

AHMEDABAD: A 26-year-old son of a district judge was beaten in public on Sunday evening by a

BMW

car owner who suspected that the youth’s two-wheeler had touched his parked car in the heavy traffic near

Pakwan crossroads

on SG Road.

The youth filed an FIR with Vastrapur police following which the car owner and his friend were arrested by the cops.

The complainant Jaydev Ashok Joshi said in the FIR that he had steered his bike to the left to avoid heavy traffic near Pakwan crossroad.

At that time, a car was parked in the left side. Seeing him steering the bike near the car, the driver asked him why he took his bike towards the side where his luxurious car was parked.

When Joshi said he did not even touch the car, the person became furious and slapped him. Later, another man came out of the car and threatened him of dire consequences if he complained to police.

Police sub-inspector J G Rana of Vastrapur police station said that the two accused have been identified as Vicky Ramesh Rana, 31, and Kanaiyalal Gajra, 42. They were arrested on Monday under charges of assault and for allegedly threatening Joshi.

“First, the BMW owner, Ramesh, slapped him and later Gajra, (Rana’s friend), threatened him,” Rana said.

The FIR says, “Rana abused Joshi in public while Gajra intimidated him stating even police cannot harm them.”
