GSRTC has initiated buses to take pilgrims to places like Bhavnagar, Surat, and Dhrangdhra, among others, for free.
"Our aim is to ensure that the returning survivors do not face any difficulty after arriving in Gujarat," said R R Varsani, chairman of the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. "Pilgrims should feel that they are home," added Varsani, who was heading the relief operations at the railway station along with K K Dudhaat, additional collector.
The police officials at the railway station gathered passengers from other towns and took them to their respective buses waiting outside the station. A medical team was also attending to patients.
"The AMC collaborated with 108 emergency services and arranged for an ambulance," said Harsh Vyas, additional collector. "We have also arranged for wheelchairs," added Vyas.
City Congress committee workers were also involved in providing relief measures at the station.
