MoU for Indo-Taiwan industrial park signed
Ahmedabad: Gujarat on Friday signed an agreement with Taiwan-linked Allegiance International Company Ltd to develop an Indo-Taiwan Industrial Park in the Sanand-Dholera belt. The move is aimed at deepening the state's semiconductor and electronics manufacturing ecosystem.A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the state's department of science and technology and the company in Gandhinagar. The MoU envisages attracting over Rs 1,000 crore in foreign direct investment over the next five years in Gujarat and generating around 12,000 direct jobs, the state govt said. State govt officials said semiconductor projects worth more than Rs 1.24 lakh crore are currently under various stages of implementation in Gujarat. Officials said the proposed park will support Taiwanese and Indian enterprises looking to establish operations in India, with a focus on semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, alongside allied sectors such as EVs, robotics and related supply chain.
