Man climbs pipe to 4th-floor hotel room in Ahmedabad, molests woman

AHMEDABAD: A 31-year-old man allegedly watched a woman enter a hotel in Naroda, climbed a pipe to her fourth-floor room in the wee hours of Monday, jumped in through a window and molested her.

In her FIR filed at Naroda police station, the 26-year-old complainant said that she and her husband had checked into the hotel in the Naroda-Muthia area a month and a half ago as their house was being renovated.

At about 3.30am on Monday, when the complainant's husband went to get snacks, she saw someone at the window. A man suddenly jumped in and demanded that she have sex with him.

When she resisted him, he allegedly molested her. She ran out of her room screaming for help and hotel workers and her husband rushed to her aid. The man then allegedly assaulted her husband as well, the FIR states.



A hotel worker called the police and a Naroda police team rushed to the hotel and arrested the accused, Parth Patel, a resident of Sardarnagar. He has been accused of molestation and assault.

Naroda police inspector S J Bhatia said that Patel is a daily-wage labourer and had been watching the complainant for a long time. Even after he was caught by hotel workers and her husband, he abused and threatened them and assaulted her husband.
