Karnavati Club elections next month
Karnavati club will introduce two new posts, both for vice-president.
AHMEDABAD: Karnavati Club is likely to hold its elections for seven posts next month. Well-placed sources in the club said that elections are likely to be held on September 17 and official announcement for the same will be made soon.
This time around, the club will introduce two additional posts, both for the vice president. Therefore, the elections will be held for a total of seven posts, including president, three vice presidents, secretary and two joint secretaries.
Sharing details about the two new posts, club president Jayesh Modi said, “The idea is to reduce the number of co-opted members and therefore, the decision to add two more posts of vice president has been taken, and will be presented before the board during the club’s annual general meeting, scheduled on September 16.”
Modi said, “According to the norms of the company law board, one third of board members will be elected.”
The Karnavati Club board has been mulling over h a new site for the club, the approval for which had already been sought in the previous meeting.

Interestingly, the club management plans to finalize the land just before the elections. “We have finalized the location and are negotiating the pricing at present. The location is just on Thol-Kadi Road and we hope to soon take a decision regarding this,” said Modi.
The move might work in favour of the incumbent
Power Panel of the club. Meanwhile, members of the Freedom Panel remained tight-lipped about the elections.
“Let the official announcement for the elections be made. Once done, we will hold a meeting and decide further course of action,” said Nimesh Patel, member, Freedom Panel.
