Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad’s Jiya Trivedi toppled the top seed and city-mate Mouboni Chatterjee to win the sub-junior girls (U-15) title at the 1st Gujarat State Ranking TT Tournament in Rajkot on Thursday. In the final of Hope Boys (U-11) category, second seed Ansh Khamar of Ahmedabad defeated top seed Akhil Achha of Surat.
Top seed in Hope Girls (U-11), Vincy Tanna beat second seed Tanisha Deputy to win the title.

The title clash of the cadet girls (U-13) category will witness second seed Dania Godil of Surat playing fifth seed Khwahish Lotia.
State badminton tourney begins:
The Gujarat State Badminton Championship 2023 commenced today at the Blackk and One Sports Foundation, Eklavya Sports Complex in the city. More than 600 players are participating in this badminton tournament, which will run till June 10. Players have been categorized into across various age groups — U-13, U-15, U-17, U-19 and open categories of single boys, doubles boys, single girls, double girls and mixed doubles. SPCT lift Plate Cup:
Sport Promoters Cricket Team (SPCT) emerge the Plate winners at the SPCT U-16 Cricket Tournament here on Thursday. They defeated Lakshya Cricket Academy by 217 runs. Batting first, SPCT were all out for 275 in 42.4overs. Parth Desai (60) and Praval Vyas (51) shone with the bat, while Dhrumil Patel and Dhyan Patel took three and two wickets respectively for Lakshya. Shan Gohil then took five for nine as Lakshya were bundled out for 58. Risheen Agrawal and Kanhaiyala Gurjar also took two wickets apiece for SPCT. Gohil was named man of the match.
