International Centre for Entrepreneurship & Career Development to train budding entrepreneurs in India

The International Labour Organization (ILO) has selected Ahmedabad-based International Centre for Entrepreneurship & Career Development (ICECD) as the training service provider for a new program in India.

AHMEDABAD: The International Labour Organization (ILO) has selected Ahmedabad-based International Centre for Entrepreneurship & Career Development (ICECD) as the training service provider for a new program in India.
ICECD will sign a memorandum of understanding with ILO for Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) programme on July 20, 2012. More than 60 national agencies had sent applications to become TSPs for the programme.

SIYB is a management-training programme with a focus on starting and improving small businesses as a strategy to create better jobs in developing economies. The programme is globally recognized as an ILO trademark. It has been introduced in over 100 countries and has generated a network of 17,000 certified trainers and 200 master trainers globally.
"The SIYB training delivery will focus on young, aspiring entrepreneurs over the next two years to implement the SIYB methodology and in identifying the geographic coverage and synergies with other poverty alleviation and socio-economic interventions," said Hina Shah, founder and director, ICECD.
Two resource persons from ICECD had attended a programme for trainers organized by ILO in July 2012 at Lucknow to acquaint and acquire skills on ILO's programme approach, plans, methodology and models. "ICECD resource persons prepared a plan of action to implement the pilot SIYB programme in Gujarat and Maharashtra," Shah added.
The programme will help entrepreneurs in the areas of generating business ideas, establishing business and preparing a business plan, improving management skills in costing, finance, marketing for enhancing profitability.
