Gujarat University receives over 10,000 applications for 167 non-teaching posts
Ahmedabad: Gujarat University received an overwhelming response to its recent recruitment drive for 167 non-teaching posts, with more than 10,000 applications submitted across various categories. The university invited applications for multiple administrative and technical positions, and the detailed post-wise application data is now public.According to the figures released earlier, the highest number of applications was received for the post of junior clerk. A total of 9,843 candidates applied for 84 vacancies, reflecting intense competition for clerical positions. For the post of senior clerk, 394 applications were received against seven vacancies.
Among other positions, 69 candidates applied for one post of Accountant officer, while 33 applications were submitted for the single post of personal assistant (PA) to the vice-chancellor. For two laboratory assistant posts, 117 applications were received. the post of pharmacist attracted 35 applications for one vacancy, and 41 candidates applied for the technical assistant (library) position.In the PWD category, 299 applications were received for 4 junior clerk posts. The university also received 58 applications for one telephone operator post, 26 for one assistant registrar post, and 15 for one librarian post. Additionally, 39 candidates applied for the security officer position, while nine applications were submitted for the single post of chief accountant.The large number of applications highlights the strong demand for stable, non-teaching positions in higher education institutions.
