Solar energy generated under this project will be supplied to the state government.
The Central Government has aided with this project through Viability Gap Funding (VGF).
With the addition of 700 MW of power in Gujarat, the overall solar power generation in the state will increase, resulting in more intensive daytime power supply to farmers in the state under Kisan Suryodaya Yojana.
The project will be set up by SECI under the second phase of the “Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU)” scheme of the New and Renewable Energy Department of the Central Government in Gujarat.
The project will play an important role in enhancing national energy security and facilitating environmental sustainability through the use of locally manufactured solar PV cells and modules.
