Gujarat textile traders look to spin profits for festival, winter seasons at Fabexa in Gandhinagar
Ahmedabad: Textile traders and manufacturers reported a strong start to the festival and winter booking season at Fabexa-2026, a three-day textile exhibition organised by the Maskati Kapad Market Mahajan in Gandhinagar.
BJP Gujarat president Jagdish Vishwakarma inaugurated the event on Friday and launched a mobile app developed by the association to prevent fraud in textile markets. The digital platform shares real-time details of blacklisted individuals to shield traders from bad debts. Vishwakarma also urged the local industry “to expand its presence across international export markets”.
Gaurang Bhagat, president of Maskati Mahajan, expressed strong optimism about the trade turnout. “The exhibition features around 50 local brands from Ahmedabad and anticipates welcoming over 5,000 corporate buyers. To ensure high engagement, we have sponsored air tickets and accommodation for nearly 800 outstation buyers,” said Bhagat.
Bhagat stated that the show will help manufacturers secure business for multiple production cycles, extending from the upcoming festivals and winter 2026 into the summer 2027 season. However, he said, “Profit margins remain under pressure as fabric production costs have shot up by as much as 20% over the last one year”.
