Heartfelt gratitude to the CM and the finance minister for presenting a fully inclusive budget which clearly outlines the roadmap from a developed Gujarat to a developed India. For the first time in the country's history, a state has approved over 20,400 new residential units with full facilities for police families. The Police Housing Corporation has been allocated a budget of Rs 1,500 crore, demonstrating the government's commitment to police welfare.Harsh Sanghavi, DyCMThe budget is built on five pillars — social security, human resource development, intra-infrastructural facilities, development of economic activities and green growth — underscoring the government's effort to chart a comprehensive plan for the year. I present before this esteemed House the record-breaking budget of Rs 4,08,053 croreKanu Desai, state finance ministerThe budget is for 2026-27, but the govt is talking of 2047 goals and targets. The budget is against the expectations of the people of Gujarat, whether youth, women, farmers or the middle-class citizens. Despite farmers being distressed, there is no mention of farm loan waiver in this budget. There was no increase in the allocation for social justice, and not a single word was uttered for an increase in pensions for the elderly, widows and differently abled persons. There is no announcement that women will get relief from inflation, nor is there any increase in the minimum wage for workers in the state. The budget shows no direction to abolish the system of fixed salaries, contractual agreements, and outsourcing that are prevalent in Gujarat. It dashed the hopes of Asha and anganwadi workers, mid-day meal workers, and others demanding equal work and equal pay Amit Chavda, GPCC presidentThe BJP government presented an election-oriented budget. It has a provision of Rs 5,425 crore for tribal development, but the allocation announced by the govt every year is not being used. The govt is silent on how the shortage of rooms and teachers in schools will be tackled. Even after the announcement of Rs 25,403 crore for the health department, there are no morgue vans, CT scan and x-ray machines in tribal areas. A provision of Rs 7,690 crore has been made for women and child development, but there is no clarity on how malnutrition will be addressed Chaitar Vasava, AAP MLA
