Goods worth Rs 8.5 lakh stolen from Gandhinagar shop

Thieves broke into an electronics shop in sector 11 of Gandhinagar and decamped with goods worth Rs 8.5 lakh on Saturday morning.The cops have zeroed in on a CCTV footage which shows one thief in action.

AHMEDABAD: Thieves broke into an electronics shop in sector 11 of Gandhinagar and decamped with goods worth Rs 8.5 lakh on Saturday morning. The cops have zeroed in on a CCTV footage which shows one thief in action.
According to an official of Sector 7 police station, the shop located in Suman mall was targeted by some unknown persons. Shop owner Rajesh Thakkar informed the police when he came to reopen his shop.
After a thorough search, the police registered a complaint, in which the owner claimed that mobiles, laptops and tablets worth Rs 8.5 lakhs were stolen.

A police official said: "The shop is spread over first and second floor of the complex. The thieves entered the shop by breaking the shutter on its first floor."
M Joseph, inspector at Sector 7 police station, told TOI, "We have started an investigation. We have checked the CCTV footage, in which we found a 22-year-old youth stealing goods. There were some other burglars at work too, but they managed to avoid the camera."
