Financial aid to gaushalas

Gandhinagar: Amid heatwave conditions prevailing across the state, the cabinet on Wednesday decided to provide a financial assistance of Rs 30 per cattle head to all registered cattle shelters or panjrapols.State government spokesperson Jitu Vaghani said that the registered panjrapols have 4.42 lakh cattle heads. The financial assistance will be provided to them through the Mukhyamantri Gau Mata Poshan Yojana which was announced in the 2022-23 state government budget. Commenting on the purchase of gram (chana) at minimum support price, the minister said that the government has paid farmers a sum of Rs 1,482 crore for the purpose. tnn
