A team from Adalaj police station visited the spot to understand the mechanism of the bed on which the alleged incident had taken place. The question facing the investigators is whether it was possible to commit the offence at the said spot without notice of others.
Cops tried to move the bed in several angles with the mechanism in another ward while keeping in mind that the victim had various contraptions including catheter on.
The victim's statement would be recorded once she is shifted to the general ward in a couple of days, said sources. They added that the victim is recuperating well.
"Now the case hinges on the DNA test result of the accused. The victim's body fluids have been collected twice during medical examination whereas the biological samples of both the accused have been taken and have been sent for match," said a police official.
"The results are expected to come later this week. If the results come positive, it would provide clinching evidence," he added.
Forensic science experts who had visited the spot had also collected clothes worn by the accused and the victim, the bedsheets from the spot and had asked police to check

"Teams are working round the clock and are visiting the victim and hospital staff members on a regular basis. We are waiting for the test results for concrete proof," said Pandya.
